Program Description:

This program is designed primarily for RNs working in critical care units.
Content will include physiological basis for hemodynamic monitoring, interpretation of hemodynamic waveforms, and care and maintenance of hemodynamic monitoring catheters.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this module, each participant will be able to:

  1. Discuss the physiological basis for hemodynamic monitoring.

  2. Identify the hemodynamic goals for critically-ill patients.

  3. Describe the appropriate care and maintenance of hemodynamic monitoring catheters.

  4. Given a set of hemodynamic monitoring strips, correctly interpret these waveforms and identify its clinical significance.

Continuing Education credit:

Approved by the BRN for 1.5 contact hours. Provider number 14147.
