Program Description:

This program is designed primarily for RNs working in critical care units.
Content will include a discussion of commonly used ventilator modes and adjustments in the ICU. The pathophysiology of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and appropriate management strategies are also included.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this module, each participant will be able to:

Discuss various ventilator modes used in critical care setting.
Discuss the indications and complications of PEEP.
Describe appropriate ventilator adjustments based on the patient'sABG results.
Discuss the management of a patient with ARDS.

Continuing Education credit:

Approved by the BRN for 1.5 contact hours. Provider number 14147.
