Director of Patient Safety Program Description:Health literacy is the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions. The purpose of this program is to explore the implications of this “hidden epidemic” and to identify tools and techniques to assist patients and enhance health literacy.
