Program Description:

This video program is designed for all clinicians, especially those who provide care to patients with chronic illness. The factors that affect patient’s adherence to treatment regimen are discussed. Practical, evidence-based approaches are illustrated using actual examples of clinical encounters.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this program, each participant will be able to:

Describe the extent and impact that nonadherence has on clinical outcomes.
Describe three evidence-based strategies that can improve adherence.
Assess adherence through improved clinician-patient communication strategies.
