Nursing Pathways National Site is Thriving

Have you noticed the national Nursing Pathways Web site's new look and feel? That's because it's been updated to be easier to use - and it looks better, too!

The change is apparent right at the home page, with a new look and menu system, which is aligned more closely with the six Nursing Pathways. The colors and images have been refreshed with a design that incorporates Kaiser Permanente's Corporate Branding Standards.

The site's content was re-examined, resulting in a site restructure and the addition of new content. If you had bookmarks or links to the previous version of the site, please take a minute to click through the updated site, so you can make sure you will continue to have access to your information.

One of the changes reflected in the new site is an updated version of the "KP Nursing Network" newsletter, the national newsletter for nursing at Kaiser Permanente. In addition to a streamlined design, the newsletter will no longer be mailed to groups or individuals. Instead, it will continue to be available online, and in a PDF format. We encourage you to let us know how this works for you, and what stories you have for the newsletter. The current production schedule calls for two online productions a year, with a story submission deadline of August 15th for the next issue.

One important feature of the national Nursing Pathways site remains: it is available to you from both your home and work. While most of the content is available anywhere from the Internet, pages of more confidential online content are indicated with a lock symbol, and are available only from the Kaiser Permanente intranet.

More changes will keep coming to the site as new information, stories and features roll out. You will also have an opportunity to test your knowledge about the new site and the Nursing Pathways program, with prizes to the top "Quiz Whizzes."

While our Web site is geared toward giving Kaiser Permanente nurses and employees the information and tools they need daily for their work and careers, we also want to hear from you -- to find out what is working, what we can improve, and news about the important work you are doing for our members and each other.
