Built in 1995, Kaiser Permanente's Fresno Medical Center is an ultra-modern facility. The art that fills the hospital's public hallways is regal in scale and broad in style and media. The architecture was featured on the cover of Health Care Architecture, published in 1995, as well as in a pictorial spread on the inside of the book.

The center includes:

• A facility with 169 licensed beds
• Approximately 200 physicians
• Approximately 500 nurses
• Approximately 80 medical support staff
• Service to around 120,000 members

Kaiser Permanente opened its first medical office in Fresno on First Street in 1986, followed by a medical center in 1995 on North Fresno Street. As we grow in Central California, we are committed to investing in the region’s health care capabilities by adding new services and facilities so that our members can enjoy greater access to care. We opened two new medical offices in the Fresno area in 2003:

• The Clovis Medical Offices (2071 Herndon Avenue, Clovis), a 65,000-square-foot facility that accommodates 36 physicians
• The Selma Medical Offices (2651 Highland Avenue, Selma), a 38,000-square-foot facility that accommodates 18 physicians.

Programs
As a nonprofit health plan, we use our members’ dues to serve our members—not to pay shareholders. We not only care for the people of Fresno, we also employ them. More than 175 physicians and over 1,500 employees work hard to provide high-quality medical care to our members. We’re committed to hiring more physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals while maintaining our ties with organized labor. We’re also involved with the Fresno, Clovis, and Selma Chambers of Commerce, the Fresno Economic Development Corporation, the Fresno Business Council, local public schools, and many other community organizations and events.
