About Us

Kaiser Permanente Patient Care Services designs and implements comprehensive strategies that improve the organization's ability to attract and retain qualified nurses. The work is organized within Nursing Pathways, which provide the framework for transforming Kaiser Permanente into the Organization of Choice for Nurses.

In addition to focusing on day-to-day patient care operations at Kaiser Permanente medical centers throughout California, Patient Care Services takes a comprehensive approach to the design and implementation of systems that enhance licensed nurses' professional development, build a positive work environment, and support excellent patient care.

The six Nursing Pathways - Workforce; Learning; Leadership; Nursing Research; Practice Work Environment; and Quality & Patient Safety - touch every aspect of a nurse's working life. Taken as a whole, the programs and strategies encompassed within Nursing Pathways strengthen the nursing profession and provide the means by which individual nurses may enrich their professional lives.
