Overview
Kaiser Permanente's Infection Control services are provided
by professional staff in each of the regions' medical centers
nationwide. The Infection Control program is dedicated to
the prevention of healthcare acquired infections in patients
who receive care in the inpatient and outpatient arenas of
each and every Kaiser Permanente medical center and medical
office building.

The Infection Control program ensures
that the most up-to-date and evidenced-based infection prevention
interventionsincluding new products and technologiesare
reflected in facility-level patient care provider policies.
We also work to see that employees and health care staff receive
information and training regarding these interventions and
products.
The regional peer groups convene
quarterly via national videoconference to further facilitate
the collaboration and communication of Infection Control Professionals
throughout the organization.
