Evidence-Based Toolkit

Nursing Research in collaboration with the Diablo Nursing Research Committee developed and evaluated a Clinical Model for Applying Evidenced Based Practice. As a result of this project nurses at the Walnut Creek Medical Center are beginning to develop evidence based project in their clinical areas.

Another outcome of this work is an Evidence Based Tool Kit. The tool kit contains basic terminology related to evidence based practice, history of Evidence based practice, and templates and scenarios designed to get you started on Evidence Based Practice. The tool kit offers tips and assistance for each of the five steps:

  1. Asses the Need for Evidence
  2. Ask a Searchable Clinical Question
  3. Acquire the Evidence
  4. Appraise the Evidence
  5. Apply the Evidence
