The Northern Regional Nursing Research Program is sponsored by KP's Community Benefit Program to improve the health and well being of Kaiser Permanente members and the community at-large.
Advance patient standards of care through evidence-based practice
Utilize nursing experience to examine clinically relevant problems
Maintain compliance with Protection of Human Subjects Federal Regulations
Promote projects that are aligned with strategic improvement initiatives
Support nursing research partnerships with academic, public, and industry partners that enhance the innovative development and distribution of nursing knowledge
The Nursing Research Program is working to achieve these goals by:
Providing leadership and consultation services from a nurse scientist
Offering education to KP RN's about how they can engage in research utilization, evidence-based practice and nursing research
Facilitating formation of Nursing Research Councils at all NCAL facilities
Collaborating with students, KP RN's, allied health professionals and external investigator to promote approval of project applications to Kaiser's Northern California Institutional Review Board (IRB)
Promoting participation in local, regional, national and international professional conferences
